The Components and Activity Model are the main objects defined for use in the ConstructSim Work Package Server.

Component Types

The Component Types section defines the main project objects to be work packaged.

• The Component Type is the name of the object.
• The Discipline is intended to be used to organize the component types. However a current defect causes this to be synonymous with the Component Type; this will be addressed in a future update.
• The Data Processing Alias is the name used in the Data Processing and Task Processing engines. The Unit Rate tables also use these alias names.

Activity Types

Each entry in the Component Types section has a corresponding CWP and Install Activity Type associated to it. When a new Component Type is added, a new CWP and Install Activity Type is added automatically. The Pipe Fabricate and Steel Erect activity types exist by default.

Product Model Types

Product Model Types is used to define Part components of aggregated objects like Piping and Steel assemblies.
